Bambi is trotting excitedly towards the clearing named the Meeting Place on a fine, sunny day. Today she wants to play with some other different animals; birds in particular. She wishes dearly to watch the birds fly and soar and sweep, the sky all theirs!
Bambi approaches the Meeting Place, and sees a good crowd of many different creatures, including several fluttering bluebirds. She sees one very small bluebird that she would love to be friends with!
"Hey!" Bambi calls to the bird.
Bambi dashes forward with an excited yelp, very excited for the fun she is about to experience. She cannot wait to make friends with a bird and chase it, leaping and hopping in all of her joy!

Renton was out in the forest enjoying himself and smiling over the beauty of the surroundings and atmosphere of it all. He noticed the birds above him in the trees, chirping softly to make the atmosphere of the forest seem even more serene and peaceful.
Then he noticed a young fawn acting all excited and looking up at the birds. He chuckled to see her express such joy and happiness at her age. Then he wondered if she wanted those birds to play with her, so he went up to her and asked, "Hello, there, Bambi. I couldn't help but notice that you want those birds to come down and perhaps play with you."

Bambi was startled as she heard the voice of a male fawn say behind her, "Hello, there, Bambi. I couldn't help but notice that you want those birds to come down and perhaps play with you."
Bambi had been so busy with the birds that she hadn't noticed anybody near her! But she didn't want to appear so startled, and then not say anything polite in return, so she admitted sheepishly,
"Well, yes... they look like they're having so much fun, and I thought perhaps I could play with them. How do you know my name?"

Boso had wondered into the clearing quite by accident. He was still new to the area, and he wanted to find shelter to rest himself in as soon as possible. He noticed the two deer having a conversation in the clearing, and decided to introduce himself before returning to his search.
"Hello," he told them confidently. "My name's Boso." He waited for their reply.

Bambi saw another deer enter the Meeting Place, and turned away from Renton to introduce herself to him. He looked like a nice deer. However, before she could say anything, he said, "Hello. My name's Boso."
Bambi replied with confidence after hearing the definite tone in his voice. "Hello," she said, smiling. "I'm Bambi. Would you like to play with me?"

"I actually heard much about you, Bambi," replied Renton with a smile. "I have overheard other creatures here in these woods talk about how you're a nice and playful little deer, and so now is a good opportunity to get to know you more."
Then he noticed another deer approach. He seemed like a friendly fellow, so he turned to face the new deer and said, "Well, hello, there." When he learned what the deer's name was, he replied by saying, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Boso."

"Thank you," replied Boso. "It's a pleasure to meet you also." Then he turned his attention back to Bambi. "Do you live here?" he asked her.

Bambi, excited about having two new friends to play with, rambled eagerly to Boso, "Here? In The Eirest Green? Yes, I do. I don't really have a home, though. I usually sleep in the Cave of Warmth or the Grand Oak. And I play in the day. That is, unless-"
Bambi, feeling like she had said too much, stopped. She reddened and lowered her head.

"Unless... what?" Boso asked her, puzzled. He could see that something was troubling the young fawn, but didn't want to pressure her.
"I come from a distant forest," he began in a friendly way. "I left my mother and sister to find a place of my own. I hope to find a home here... This is a lovely place, don't you think?"

More at ease, Bambi ingored Boso's earlier question and replied with a nod, "It is. Everyone here is friendly. Me, I've been here for a long time." Bambi didn't go on about her personal history; she didn't like to talk about it.
Bambi continued, "Yes, everyone is friendly. But... Just-" Bambi stopped again and frowned.

Renton noticed that Bambi started to look a bit down, but then after looking at the birds again, they gave him an idea. He went up to the closest birds in the low branches of the trees and whispered to them if they could both fly around her and play with her to cheer her up. A couple of the birds looked at each other and nodded their heads to him in agreement. He smiled at the fact that they agreed to help Bambi.
The two birds who agreed to help took off from the branch that they were sitting on and swooped down toward Bambi's head, hoping that she would respond to them and feel happier at the fact that they were willing to play with her, just like she wanted.

Bambi felt a woosh of air above her head. Surprised, she looked up to see two smiling birds flutter in the air. She immediately broke into a grin as the worries for Renton and Boso vanished.
Bambi called to the birds, "Hey!" She began to jump and leap around them. For a second as she whipped her head around she saw Renton smiling.
"Hey, do you want to play with me?" Bambi asked eagerly.

The two birds grinned and continued to fly around Bambi and dance in the air to help amuse her.
Renton looked down at Bambi when she asked her question, and he replied back with a smile, "Why, sure. And I'm sure that these birds here would like to play with you as well." The birds heard him speak, and they nodded their heads to her.

Bambi grinned and ducked as one of the friendly birds tweeted and swooped over her head. She chased the other, laughing.
Then Bambi decided to involved Renton in her playing. She jumped behind Renton and touched his tail gently with her nose!

Boso smiled as he watched Bambi chase the birds around the clearing. It reminded him of how he used to play with his sister when he was a fawn.
Wagging his tail, Boso approached Bambi and Renton. "Mind if I join you?" he asked.
